Information about the trip
There are two main floating markets in Can Tho, Cai Rang and Phong Dien. Cai Rang floating market is the main wholesale floating market near Can Tho while Phong Dien floating market is a smaller one with natural beauty. The main characteristic of the markets is selling fruits and agricultural products. You also get a chance to watch local people fishing by using different kinds of fishing traps or how people transport passengers and products from one to other sides of river by waterway
Short tour itinerary (only Cai Rang Floating Market)
Around 5:30 – You are picked up by a boatman and a tour guide at the loby of Kim Long Hotel
Around 6:00 – You reach Cai Rang Floating Market and will go around the market to watch the lively scene of exchanging goods between the local people.
Around 6:45 – You arrive at a small canal and the tour guide will tell you about the life of the local people (how they make a living, what the population of the area is)
Around 7:15 – You will visit the noodle factory and the tour guide will tell you how the local people produce rice noodle. You can also enjoy a special dish named noodle pizza there.
Around 8: 30 – The boatman will bring you back to the hotel and the tour guide will tell you on the way back to Can Tho more about the culture of the local people living in the Mekong Delta.
